Computer

Airflow

I am sure you have seen the way a typical house fan collects dirt. The components within the computer case collect a lot of dust, dirt, and pet dander as well. So, choose the location for your computer carefully. Computer systems also generate a lot of heat, it is crucial to the performance of your system not to restrict the airflow to and from your PC tower. Do not place the tower too close to a wall or in a tightly enclosed area. Pets that like to be close to you while you are on the computer can be a slight problem, especially if they have a tendency to shed. The pet dander and hair will be drawn into the tower through the fans. If the system is in a child's room make sure to keep clothes, toys, and anything else from around the base, or behind the tower.

" Mynians" will come out and do routine cleanings at your convenience, to make sure your system, and the internal components are clean.

Turning Off Your Computer

It is important that before you shut down your windows operating system, you close all running programs first. Unplugging a peripheral such as a (Printer, scanner, a keyboard, and a USB device) can cause hardware problems. The Windows operating system keeps several critical processes running in the background. Failure to shut down windows properly can cause serious file errors, and cause the operating system to become unstable. Always shut down by clicking ---> Start then shutdown.

Networking

A network is a collection of connected intelligent computing devices. The connection is not necessarily a fancy one. A connection between two computers by direct cabling is qualified to be a network. By this definition, a workstation, which is loaded with a computer, a scanner, and a printer, is not treated as a network.

A network can consist of two computers connected together on a desk or it can consist of many Local Area Networks (LANs) connected together to form a Wide Area Network (WAN) across a continent. The key is that two or more computers are connected together by a medium and are sharing resources. These resources can be files, printers, hard drives, or CPU number-crunching power.

Optimize Your PC

Clean you are PC of Unnecessary Files: This is the most important step to keeping your PC running at 100% performance. Your PC stores files that allow programs to run faster, or not have to download information repeatedly. Yet, as the amount of these files grows larger, your program's performance actually slows down. Your hard drive also starts to get sluggish since there is less free space and the drive has to spin more often to get information. In addition, excess unnecessary files can lean to system and program errors since there can be multiple files being called with similar data or names.

Update your Operating System

Microsoft always releases updates to Windows that correct bugs, compatibility problems, security issues, and stability/reliability issues. Installing updates to Windows is a critical part of optimizing performance since you are always assured maximum compatibility, reliability, security, and compatibility with hardware and software.

Update your Software

Software manufacturers compete to provide the most reliable software to make people more productive. However, all software contains flaws, whether the flaws are security problems, bugs, or compatibility issues. To correct this, manufacturers release updates, or patches, to correct the problematic issues with their software. Updating your software ensures that your software are running correctly and reduces the risk of system errors.

Update your Drivers

Each hardware component requires software to let Windows know how to communicate with the hardware. The software that does this is called a Driver. Each driver provides Windows with information about the hardware, how to communicate with it, and what features the hardware supports. Drivers, however, contain many flaws such as OS compatibility, bugs, and feature problems. Hardware manufacturers will release new drivers if there is a compatibility issue with Windows (such as a new version of Windows), bugs that cause communication problems, or problems using features of the hardware (such as CD-RW drives). Having the latest drivers for your hardware will ensure that you do not encounter communication and compatibility problems with your PC.

Secure Your PC

Security is one of the most touchy subjects in the computer world today. Hundreds of viruses released each month compromises the stability of computers everywhere, including the loss of data. Hackers also pose threats by breaking into computer systems, exposing them to threats such as viruses, data loss, or ET software (that send data back to the hacker). Having your PC secured will help optimize performance as you will not have to worry about security threats and your data will be safe.
